LivSimpl Tip: Save your closet
June 29, 2007
Before you buy something new (and by “new” I mean “new to you” – shop at thrift stores!), get rid of something. It will keep your closet/dresser/bedroom from becoming even more out of control than it already is.
Be ruthless. Show no mercy. If the phrase, “But I might…” creeps into your head toss the item in the donate bin right away, because “You won’t.”
It’s also worth noting, that if you aren’t willing to get rid of something old, it stands to reason that it is working for you and that you don’t need anything new.

LivSimpl: an introduction to living simple
June 28, 2007
The idea of “living simple” has been one I’ve tossed around in my head for years. It revolves around the question, “What do I really need?”
The world seems to be shouting, “MORE!” We live in an age where there is more information constantly being thrust at us, more pressure to work more hours to make more money to have more toys. Have more. Do more.
I think the opposite is true.
Live simple. Less is more. As we simplify our lives, eliminate distractions, become more efficient and prioritize we’ll find greater fulfillment. Take pleasure in the simple things and you’ll be much happier.
This blog is dedicated to sharing ways to do just that.

LivSimpl Tip: Wipe out channel surfing
June 28, 2007
Don’t turn on the TV unless you know there’s a show on that you want to watch. When its over, turn the TV off. Don’t start flipping the channels hoping something good will be on. Here are three reasons why:
1. The chances of you finding something worth watching are slim to none.
2. If you don’t know something is on, you won’t miss watching it.
3. You’ll end up settling for something sub-par. You don’t need to watch The Price is Right reruns.
Instead, spend the time doing something productive so you can have time available later when something you really want to do comes along.
